Extremely rare vintage handwritten, signed letter in blue ballpoint pen on a 9x10-inch sheet of tan stationery, with excellent "Dr. Who"-related content, reading in full: "August 30, '02 / dear Emma, / Thank you very much for your letter. It is a very happy thought that 'Dr. Who' is still appreciated after all these years, and manages to please yet another generation of viewers. With very best wishes from the Controller of the Daleks, Aubrey Woods." In good condition, with several mailing folds and gentle edgewear. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the signed piece is not included. English character actor Aubrey Woods is probably best remembered for his portrayal of Bill the candy man, who sings the opening song and sells Charlie Bucket his winning ticket, in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971). He was elsewhere memorable as Goldsmith in The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) and, on television, as the Controller of the Daleks in four episodes of "Dr. Who" (1972).
