Uncommon vintage signature in fountain pen on a 4x6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person at the height of his popularity.  Some surface creases and edge wear, well away from the writing, and suitable for matting.  Like W.C. Fields before him, comedian Fred Allen hoped to headline in vaudeville as a juggler, but was at his best as a wisecracking monologist and master of ceremonies.  After memorable work in Broadway reviews like "The Passing Show", always paired with his partner and wife Portland Hoffa, he found new audiences as a wry, sardonic radio host and rascally film actor in the 1930s and 1940s.
