Scarce vintage signature in pencil on a 4x6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person at Hollywood's Brown Derby in 1930. Priced to reflect a one-inch crease traversing the first letter of his surname, and hints of toning and soiling throughout, but, overall, in fairly good condition for its age. The esteemed silent film director, writer, producer, and occasional actor created classic films like Resurrection (1927), Ramona (1928), Revenge (1928), Evangeline (1928), and The Spoilers (1930), but abandoned Hollywood with the advent of talkies. He is also credited with discovering and promoting the careers of Dolores Del Rio, Warner Baxter, Wallace Beery, Francis X. Bushman, Gary Cooper, and his wife, Mary Aiken.
