Scarce vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 4x5-inch tan album page, acquired in-person by movie hairstylist and autograph colelctor Lily Dirigo in the 1930s. In good condition. Prolific character actor Hobart Cavanaugh played downtrodden, henpecked nobodies in scores of classic films of the 1930s and 1940s, with two memorable horror roles: Professor Jasper Quigley in Horror Island (1941) and Bill Stapleton in The Spider Woman Strikes Back (1946). He was also memorable as Dearing in the Sherlock Holmes film A Study in Scarlet (1933), opposite Reginald Owen.
