Cat. #0054932: POLLY WALTERS

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce and charming 7x8-inch black and white Warner Brothers publicity bust portrait by famed photographer Elmer Fryer, boldly signed in black fountain pen in the early 1930s, with a cryptic dedication that might appeal to those with their minds in the gutter:  "For 'Bill' / The 'biggest' and 'nicest' / man I know. / Sincerely, / Polly Walters".  Uneven trimming to all four edges and negligible handling dings, but, overall, in good condition for its age.  The adorable blonde starlet memorably played wisecracking telephone operators and dizzy dames in early Warner Brothers talkies, including Blonde Crazy (1931), Expensive Women (1931), Smart Money (1931), Young Bride (1932), and Frank Capra's American Madness (1932).  After her appearance in the latter, she vanished from the screen, aged only 19 years.
