Uncommonly early 7x9-inch black and white portrait, probably dating to the late 1950s, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen. One rarely encounters autographed portraits of the star from this era. In good condition, with the borders likely trimmed away for framing purposes. After being menaced by the Gill Man in the cult horror classic The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1953), gorgeous Julia-- later, Julie-- Adams was also memorable in Bright Victory (1951), The Lawless Breed (1953), The Private War of Major Benson (1955), Away All Boats (1956), Four Girls in Town (1956), The Gunfight in Dodge City (1959), McQ (1974), and The Wild McLintocks (1974). Toward th end of her career, she played Eve Simpson on T.V.'s "Murder, She Wrote" (1987-1993).
