Rare vintage blue fountain pen signature on a roughly 2.5 x 5-inch portion of a pale blue autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1940s. In good condition, with some irregular trimming to the edges, and ideal for matting with a favorite photograph. Rotund, wide-eyed, loudmouthed character actor John Alexander was unforgettable as Teddy-- the psychotic member of the Brewster clan who thinks he's Theodore Roosevelt-- in the black comedy Arsenic and Old Lace (1944). Among his many other classic film credits are Baby Take a Bow (1934), Mr. Skeffington (1944), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945), Junior Miss (1945), The Jolson Story (1946), and Winchester '73 (1950). This is just the fourth example of his autograph we've ever encountered.
