Extremely rare vintage fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pale blue autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s.  Thin Man actor Edward Ellis signs on the verso, with no dedication, providing a second very elusive signature.  In good condition and ideal for matting.  Great character actor Herbert Ashley was already an older man by the time he entered acting in 1934, ideal for playing a wide array of avuncular neighbors, wisecracking bartenders, irked bus drivers, and every manner of authority figure.  His long list of classic film credits includes Les Miserables (1935), the Three Stooges flick It's in the Air (1935), King of Burlesque (1936), Fury (1936), Poor Little Rich Girl (1936), The League of Frightened Men (1937), Ali Baba Goes to Town (1937), East Side of Heaven (1939), Belle Star (1940), and The Dolly Sisters (1945).
