Exceptionally rare vintage 3.25 x 5.25-inch black and white side show pitch card, boldly signed in blue fountain pen in Hollywood in 1946. In fine condition for its age, with gentle edgewear, and one of only four examples of his autograph we have ever encountered. Note that the image of the star, shown here alongside the scan of the signed portrait, is not included. Russian-born dwarf entertainer Jerry Austin made a few forays into motion pictures, perhaps most memorably as the diminutive knife-thrower who joins Hans' quest for revenge against Cleopatra in Tod Browning's horror masterpiece Freaks (1932).
