Cat. #000422202: MILDRED BAILEY

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage inscribed fountain pen signature on a 4x5-inch pale yellow autograph album page, acquired in-person following a performance at the Trenton Theater in 1937.  In good condition for its age.  Influential Black jazz singer Mildred Bailey was dubbed the Queen of Swing and The Rockin' Chair Lady, piling up hit recordings like "It's So Peaceful in the Country", "Trust in Me", "Where Are You?", "I Let a Song Go Out of My Heart", "Small Fry", "Please Be Kind", "Darn That Dream", "Rockin' Chair", "Blame It on My Last Affair", and "Says My Heart".  She died of heart failure at the age of 44 and her autograph is highly elusive in any format.
