Cat. #00045322: FREDDIE BARTHOLOMEW

Vintage 8x10-inch matte-finish portrait around age 15, boldly signed and inscribed in green fountain pen in the late 1930s. In good condition for its age, with some fraying to the upper border, where some tape was peeled away, and a brownish stain from another bit of tape along the bottom edge. English-born Freddie Bartholomew was one of the most popular child actors in film history, marvelous in classic films like David Copperfield (1935), Anna Karenina (1935), Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936), Captains Courageous (1937), and Swiss Family Robinson (1940). He died of emphysema and heart failure at the age of 67.
