Scarce vintage signature in green fountain pen on a 3.5 x 5.5-inch portion of a yellow autograph album page, acquired in-person at Paramount Studios in 1962. In very good condition and suitable for matting. Typically cast as sympathetic types, the prolific character actor of the 1930s through 1960s made a number of key contributions to the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres, with roles in The Monkey's Paw (1933), I Walked with a Zombie (1943), The Leopard Man (1943), The Spiral Staircase (1946), and Back from the Dead (1957). He was also memorable in I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932), Holiday Inn (1942), My Friend Flicka (1943), Blood on the Sun (1945), The Unknown (1945), Dead Reckoning (1947), The Glenn Miller Story (1954), and Marty (1955). On television, he was a regular on "Dragnet" (1954) and "Perry Mason" (1958-1960), and played Dennis' grandpa Charlie on "Dennis the Menace" (1959).
