Uncommon ballpoint pen signature on a 4x5-inch white autograph album page, acquired in-person in 1963, following an appearance in the play "Never Too Late".  In very good condition.  Character actor William Bendix was typically cast as big lugs of the lovable or sinister variety.  Oscar-nominated for his third film, Wake Island (1942), he went on to memorable work in The Glass Key (1942), Woman of the Year (1942), Guadalcanal Diary (1943), Lifeboat (1944), A Bell for Adano (1945), The Blue Dahlia (1946), The Babe Ruth Story (1948), A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1949), The Life of Riley (1949), and Detective Story (1951).
