Remarkably early fountain pen signature on a 3.25 x 6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person following a theater performance in 1924. The earliest example we've ever encountered. In good condition, with some slight brushing to the date, and nice for matting with a favorite photograph. Veteran stage, and silent and Golden Age character actor Sidney Blackmer is remembered by horror buffs for his starring roles as Eugene Fulton in The Lady and the Monster (1944) and the scheming warlock Roman Castevet in Rosemary's Baby (1968). He was elsewhere memorable in Little Caesar (1931), The Count of Monte Cristo (1934), Heidi (1937), Charlie Chan at Monte Carlo (1937), Thank You, Mr. Moto (1937), The Last Gangster (1937), Angels with Broken Wings (1941), The Panther's Claw (1941), Duel in the Sun (1946), High Society (1956), and How to Murder Your Wife (1965).
