Extremely rare vintage signature-- not as Marie Blake, but using the name with which she was credited on "The Addams Family" (1964-1966)!-- given as part of a handwritten return address on an envelope mailed to a friend in 1965, during the run of the classic show. The first we have encountered in over 10 years! Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Movie character actress Marie Blake, who was the older sister of Jeannette MacDonald, gained fame in the role of Sally in the Dr. Kildare film series of the 1930s and 1940s. In her later years, she found new work on television, briefly using the name Blossom Rock while playing cackling, white-haired, mad-eyed Grandmama Addams on "The Addams Family" (1964-1966).
