Cat. #0005255: JOE BONOMO

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Nifty vintage four-page autobiographical booklet, unabashedly self-adoring as ever, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen at a public appearance in 1963. In good condition, with a few minor surface creases, with the front of the booklet constituting an excellent signed portrait. Adonic strongman, actor and stuntman Joe Bonomo played henchmen, goons, circus performers, troglodytes, gangsters, and gorillas in horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and crime flicks like The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923), The Iron Man (1924), The Great Circus Mystery (1925), The Sea Tiger (1927), The King of Kings (1927), Vamping Venus (1928), The King of the Kongo (1929), and Island of Lost Souls (1932). In the Bela Lugosi classic Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932), Charles Gemora played the murderous gorilla in most scenes-- but it was Bonomo who donned the ape suit for the thrilling rooftop sequence!
