Cat. #000602: JOCELYN BRANDO

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage blue ballpoint pen signature on a 2.5 x 3.75-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in the early 1980s. The writing runs off the leaf at the bottom; otherwise, in good condition. Tough-as-nails leading lady Jocelyn Brando, who was the older sister of actor Marlon Brando, was principally a stage actress, but made a number of key forays into Hollywood films. Her best-known movie role was that of detective Glenn Ford's murdered wife in the 1953 gangster melodrama The Big Heat. She went on to appear, alongside her more famous sibling, in The Ugly American (1962) and The Chase (1966).  In her later years, she was a busy character actress, brassy as ever as Barbara Bennett in Mommie Dearest (1981) and and the mother of the unfairly accused Larry Drake in the cult horror gem Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981).
