Beautiful WAMPAS Baby Star and silent movie queen Evelyn Brent was known for exotic, "dangerous" roles, most notably in The Last Command (1928) and two other films directed by Josef Von Sternberg. With the advent of talkies, she was increasingly cast in supporting roles in A-level dramas, and then could only find work in William Beaudine B pictures, prompting her abandonment of Hollywood.
