Classic Entertainment Autographs

Cat. #0006111212: MARY BRIAN

Scarce vintage blue fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch yellow autograph album page, acquired in-person by inveterate collector Saul Goodman in the early 1930s and decorated with a small magazine image. In good condition. Pretty Mary Brian, much-loved leading lady of the silent and early talkie screens, was dubbed "the sweetest girl in pictures," but wasn't so sweat about giving autographs. She was memorable as Wendy Darling in the fantasy classic Peter Pan (1924), Isabel Rivers in Beau Geste (1926), Peggy Grant in The Front Page (1931), W.C. Fields' faithful daughter in The Man on the Flying Trapeze (1935), Yvette Lamartine in Charlie Chan in Paris (1935), a heartbreaking femme fatale in the 1936 Henry Fonda vehicle Spendthrift (1936), Frances Clayton in The Amazing Adventure (1936), and Anne Hogan in Dragnet (1947).
