Quite scarce vintage 4.6 x 7-inch matte-finish black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen for a musician with whom he collaborated, adding the year of 1931. In near-fine condition, with the vertical borders partially trimmed; mild staining in the bottom border and at the left edge, intruding slightly into the background above his arm; and a small abrasion along the extreme right edge in the background above his shoulder. Bespectacled character actor Walter Catlett is remembered for playing excitable, meddlesome, temperamental, officious blowhards in comedies of the 1920s through 1950s.
