From a massive horde of signatures, all acquired in-person over three decades by an indefatigable autograph hound, comes this scarce vintage inscribed blue fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch off-white card, decorated with a small magazine image, acquired in the 1960s. In fine condition, with two minor crinkles in the bottom area. After memorable work in The Ghost Breakers and Hold That Ghost (1941), stage and screen star Richard Carlson took a hiatus from acting to serve in the Second World War. Upon his return, he found solid work more difficult to come by, and found himself increasingly relegated roles in B-level horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and crime flicks. Among the memorable of these were Behind Locked Doors (1948); The Amazing Mr. X (1948); The Magnetic Monster (1953); the 3-D cult favorites The Maze (1953), It Came from Outer Space (1953) and The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954); Riders to the Stars (1954); Tormented (1960); The Power (1968); and The Valley of Gwangi (1969). He was also memorable in the Elvis Presley musical Change of Habit in 1969.
