Highly rare vintage violet fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch turquoise album page, acquired in-person in the 1950s by inveterate autograph hounds Rose and Irene Gellar, and decorated with a small Players Directory image of the star. In good condition and nice for matting with a favorite photograph. Perhaps best remembered for playing Mr. Waverly, chief of the international crime-fighters, on T.V.'s "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (1964-1968), English-born character actor Leo G. Carroll enjoyed multiple collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock, including Rebecca (1940), Suspicion (1941), Spellbound (1945), Strangers on a Train (1951), and North by Northwest (1959). He also made a number of contributions to the horror, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, and crime film genres, including London by Night (1937), A Christmas Carol (1938), Tower of London (1939), Charlie Chan in City in Darkness (1939), Charlie Chan's Murder Cruise (1940), T.V.'s "Topper" (1953-1955), and Tarantula (1955).
