Rare 1956 Universal Studios publicity portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the 1950s. In good condition, with a mild bend at the top right-hand corner tip, a light paper clip impression at the top left, and slight paper loss to top left-hand corner tip. White-haired tough guy Jeff Chandler was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Cochise in Broken Arrow (1950), and was elsewhere noteworthy in Sword in the Desert (1948), Mr. Belvedere Goes to College (1949), Son of Ali Baba (1952), Female on the Beach (1955), Away All Boats (1956), and Return to Peyton Place (1961). He died tragically during a botched surgery for a herniated disc, aged only 42.
