HIGHLY rare and extremely desirable full-name signature in blue fountain pen on a 4x5-inch turquoise album page, acquired in-person in London, England, in 1949, the year of The Heiress, in which he appeared alongside Olivia De Havilland. In excellent condition, with an uninscribed fountain pen autograph of Italian star Alida Valli on the verso. Handsome leading man Montgomery Clift, who died so tragically of heart disease at the age of 45, played moody, sensitive outsiders and antiheroes in films like The Heiress (1949), A Place in the Sun (1951), Alfred Hitchcock's I Confess (1953), From Here to Eternity (1953), The Young Lions (1958), Suddenly, Last Summer (1959), The Misfits (1961), and Judgment at Nuremberg (1961). He received four Oscar nominations during his brief lifetime.
