Early 3.5 x 5.5-inch sepia-tone German "Ross" Verlag postcard portrait, shown in the title role in 1926's Beau Geste, boldly signed in black fountain pen around the time of the film. In good condition. British-American stage and film star Ronald Colman played romantic leads in classic silents like The White Sister (1923), Romola (1924) and Stella Dallas (1925). With his cultivated, expressive voice, he made a smooth transition to talkies, memorable in Bulldog Drummond (1929), Condemned (1929), Bulldog Dummond Strikes Back (1934), Arrowsmith (1931), A Tale of Two Cities (1935), Lost Horizon (1937), The Prisoner of Zenda (1937), If I Were King (1938), Random Harvest (1942), and A Double Life (1947), for which he earned an Academy Award.
