Cat. #0010416: JACKIE COOPER

Vintage 8x10-inch glossy black and white portrait, dating to his juvenile period, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the 1940s. In fine condition, with scattered mild handling and thumbing bends, tack holes in the top and bottom edges, and slight paper loss to the upper and lower borders, not affecting the image itself. After memorable work in the Our Gang comedy shorts of the 1930s, child star Jackie Cooper was nominated for an Oscar for Skippy (1931) at the ripe old age of nine. He went on to an unforgettable performance in The Champ (1931), opposite Wallace Beery. Later in life, he played Perry White in the Superman trilogy of 1978, 1980 and 1983.
