Cat. #001091: INEZ COURTNEY

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Quite scarce vintage 5x7-inch sepia-tone portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the 1930s. In good condition for its age. Charming redhead Inez Courtney was the quintessential coquettish soubrette in Broadway musical comedies of the 1920s. Moving to Hollywood in 1930, she played wise-cracking supporting roles in nearly 60 films before retiring from acting a decade later. She is remembered by horror, sci-fi and fantasy buffs for the role of Mary Burns in the Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi classic The RavenĀ (1935).
