Scarce vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch mustard yellow autograph autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In fine condition for its age, with a fountain pen signature of actress and model Anita Colby on the verso. Veteran character player, director, playwright, and producer Frank Craven achieved theatrical immortality as the Stage Manager in the original 1938 Broadway production of "Our Town", which he would recreate in the film adaptation of 1940. In Hollywood, he famously penned the Laurel and Hardy comedy Sons of the Desert (1933) and, as an actor, played wry small-town wisecrackers and various men of authority in nearly 40 classic films, including State Fair (1933), Barbary Coast (1935), In This Our Life (1942), the horror favorite Son of Dracula (1943), and Destiny (1944).
