Cat. #0011644: DOROTHY DALTON

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce and lovely vintage 8x10-inch sepia-tone bust portrait, boldly signed in black fountain pen in the 1920s. In fine condition. Dimpled brunette silent movie actress Dorothy Dalton achieved stardom in 31 films directed and/or produced by Thomas H. Ince, including The Flame of the Yukon (1917) and the early horror flick The Dark Mirror (1920). She eventually branched out to other studios, headlining in Cecil B. DeMille's presumably lost Fool's Paradise (1921), Moran of the Lady Letty (1922) with Rudolph Valentino, Victor Fleming's Dark Secrets (1923) and lost Law of the Lawless (1923), The Lone Wolf (1924), and The Moral Sinner (1924).She abandoned Hollywood at the age of 30 to marry lyricist Arthur Hammerstein and her autograph is quite elusive in any format.
