Cat. #001166212: MARION DAVIES

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly scarce authentic vintage inscribed blue ballpoint pen signature on a 4x6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1950s. Virtually all "autographs" one encounters of the star were secretarially-signed. Beautiful silent and early talkie comic actress Marion Davies' career was bolstered by her relationship with newspaper mogul William Randolph Hearst, which was, of course, the basis for Orson Welles' Citizen Kane (1941).  Memorable in films like Show People (1928), The Patsy (1928), Going Hollywood (1933), and Cain and Mabel (1936), she died of stomach cancer at the age of 64.
