Cat. #001166212: MARION DAVIES

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly scarce vintage inscribed fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pale pink autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s and decorated with two small magazine images.  Beautiful silent and early talkie comic actress Marion Davies' career was bolstered by her relationship with newspaper mogul William Randolph Hearst, which was, of course, the basis for Orson Welles' Citizen Kane (1941).  Memorable in films like Show People (1928), The Patsy (1928), Going Hollywood (1933), and Cain and Mabel (1936), she died of stomach cancer at the age of 64.
