Extremely rare vintage fountain pen signature on a 4x5-inch pale pink album page, acquired in-person in the 1950s. In very good condition and ideal for matting. Note that the image of the star accompanying the scan of the item here is not included with the autograph. One of the screen's all-time great villain actors, skeleton-faced, Scottish-born Anthony Dawson was memorable in the horror gem Queen of Spades (1949) before landing the career-changing role of murderous Lesgate in Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder (1954). He went on to deliciously sinister appearances as Burk in The Haunted Stangler (1958) with Boris Karloff; Count Siniestro in The Curse of the Werewolf (1961); henchman geologist Professor R.J. Dent in the Bond flick Dr. No (1962); and the second incarnation of Bond baddy Blofield in From Russia with Love (1963) and Thunderball (1965), in which he created the iconic scenes of a faceless man in white petting his beloved pet cat. This is just the third example of his autograph we have encountered in 30 years!
