Cat. #001221110: DOLORES DEL RIO

Extraordinary vintage 11x14-inch black and white portrait, looking stunning in her silent movie heyday, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen around 1926. In good condition for its age, with one minor white fleck to the area of her hair, and excellent for display. After fine work in classics like What Price Glory (1926), The Loves of Carmen (1927), Resurrection (1927), and Ramona (1928), gorgeous Mexican silent movie queen Dolores Del Rio went on to star in the early English- and Spanish-language talkies Bird of Paradise (1932), Flying Down to Rio (1933), Madame Du Barry (1934), Accused (1936), The Devil's Playground (1937), Journey Into Fear (1943), The Abandoned (1945), Maria Candelaria (1944), and Dona Perfecta (1951).
