Rare vintage clipped fountain pen signature from the close of a late 19th Century letter, measuring about 1x2 inches. In good condition for its age. Dorothea Dix is remembered as a towering advocate on behalf of the mentally ill who created the first generation of U.S. asylums. During the American Civil War, she served as a Superintendent of Army Nurses.
