Before her early death of cancer at the age of 52, gorgeous Cathy Downs was noteworthy in The Dolly Sisters (1945), State Fair (1945), My Darling Clementine (1946), The Dark Corner (1946), For You I Die (1946), and The Noose Hangs High (1947). She was thereafter a popular horror, sci-fi and fantasy regular, memorable in The Phantom from 10,000 Leagues (1955), The She-Creature (1956), The Amazing Colossal Man (1957), and Missile to the Moon (1958).
