Highly rare vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch tan album page, acquired in-person by a busy New York City-based autograph hound in 1943. In good condition. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the signed piece is not included. Bald, plump, lisping Ralph Dumke was one of those great, prolific television and movie character actors one instantly recognizes, but can generally not name. Generally cast as blow-hard authority figures, he was notable in All the King's Men (1949), Mystery Street (1950), Hurricane Smith (1952), The War of the Worlds (1953), Daddy Long Legs (1955), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), The Solid Gold Cadillac (1956), The Buster Keaton Story (1957), and Loving You (1957). On T.V., he was appeared in an episode of "I Love Lucy" in 1957 and, in 1961, he played Greendale Mayor Purdy on "The Andy Griffith Show."
