Ultra-rare vintage 3.5 x 5.5-inch matte-finish sepia-tone full-length postcard portrait, boldly signed in black fountain pen, probably dating to about 1915-1918. In fine condition, with visible moderate silvering to the darker areas of the image, slightly detracting from the overall appearance. Hailed as the founder of modern dance, lovely Isadora Duncan was revered for the intensity of her artistic vision and despised for her scandalous private life. She died tragically in 49, when a long silk scarf she was wearing during a drive became entangled in her automobile's open-spoke wheels, hurling her out of the open convertible and breaking her neck.
