Rare vintage pencil signature on a 4x6-inch light blue autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In good condition for its age, with a block of toning behind the writing from a magazine image that had been affixed to the adjacent page in the book. Character actor Gilbert Emery played distinguished, aristocratic types in films like The Sky Hawk (1929), Scandal Sheet (1931), A Farewell to Arms (1932), The House of Rothschild (1934), The Man Who Reclaimed His Head (1934), Cardinal Richelieu (1935), Magnificent Obsession (1935), Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936), The Life of Emile Zola (1937), The Buccaneer (1938), Juarez (1939), Nurse Edith Cavell (1939), The House of Seven Gables (1940), The Loves of Edgar Allan Poe (1942), and The Brighton Strangler (1945).
