Scarce vintage 5x7-inch double-weight sepia-tone portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the early- to mid-1940s. In good condition, with minute oxidation spots in the upper left-hand corner, which do not substantially detract from the overall appearance of the piece. Among his many wonderful film roles, affable character actor Frank Faylen notably portrayed Dr. Meade's assistant in Gone with the Wind (1939), "Bim" Nolan in The Lost Weekend (1945), Ernie Bishop in It's a Wonderful Life (1946), and the hotheaded father on T.V.'s "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" (1959-1963).
