Highly scarce 3.5 x 5.5-inch black and white Ross Verlag postcard portrait, boldly signed in heavy fountain pen in the late 1930s.  In good condition.  Large-and-in-charge German stage, and silent and early talkie film actor Heinrich George was reportedly starved to death in a Soviet detainment camp at the age of 52.  He is remembered by horror, sci-fi and fantasy buffs for his starring roles as Horace Holly in She (1925) and Grot, the Guardian of the Heart Machine, in Fritz Lang's dystopian classic Metropolis (1927).
