Cat. #0014223322: JANET GAYNOR

Charming 8x10-inch black and white publicity portrait for 1935's One More Spring, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, probably in the 1950s. In good condition, with some minor surface scratches. Pretty Janet Gaynor was one of the biggest box office draws of the silent era. In 1929, she became the first winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for her performances in three films, 7th Heaven (1927), F.W. Murnau's Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) and Street Angel (1928). The actress' success continued into the talkie era and she achieved a notable success in the original version of A Star Is Born (1937), snagging a second Best Actress Academy Award nomination.
