Extremely rare, chilling and intense 3.5 x 5.5-inch sepia-tone bust portrait, boldly signed in black fountain pen and mailed to an admirer on August 30, 1939-- TWO DAYS BEFORE THE INVASION OF POLAND, which marked the onset of the German onslaught that launched the Second World War. In good condition and accompanied by its original transmittal envelope and a certificate of authenticity from the auction house which originally offered it in 2010. Joseph Goebbels was the Reich Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 through 1945, and one of Adolf Hitler's closest associates and followers. His virulent antisemitism garnered unconscionable degrees of public support for the extermination of the Jews in the Holocaust. He and his family committed suicide in 1945.
