Cat. #0014761221: JACK HALEY

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Mattable inscribed blue fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch white card, acquired in-person by inveterate autograph hound John Virzi in the 1960s and decorated with a small Players Directory image. In good condition. Mild-mannered vaudeville song and dance man Jack Haley entered films during the late silent era and appeared in some 30 pictures through 1977, none more memorable than The Wizard of Oz (1939). His unforgettable role as the (allegedly) heartless Tin Man was originally slated for Buddy Ebsen, but due to the latter's allergic reaction to the aluminum powder makeup, Haley was recruited in the eleventh hour.
