Highly rare vintage black fountain pen signature, inscribed to movie hair stylist Lily Dirigo in 1933-- the year he played Charles Weston in King Kong!-- with the a flirtatious joke: "To Lily: How you let me slip through your fingers I'll never know! Sam Hardy 1933 'Just One Prom with You'". In good condition. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Sartorial writer and prolific movie character actor Sam Hardy, who died during an intestinal surgery at just 52, is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of impresario Charles Weston in the horror, sci-fi and fantasy classic King Kong (1933). He was elsewhere noteworthy in The Miracle Woman (1931), The Magnificent Lie (1931) and Little Miss Marker (1934).
