Highly rare vintage inscribed signature in red fountain pen signed with his full name-- not only as Wm Harrigan, which was his custom-- on a 4x6-inch tan album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In good condition, with minor soiling along the upper edge, well away from the writing. Nice for matting with a favorite photograph. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. All-purpose character actor William Harrigan played a mixed bag of authority figures and goons in countless classics of the silent era through the 1960s, including Dr. Arthur Kemp in The Invisible Man (1933), Mac McKay in G-Man (1935), a henchman in The People's Enemy (1935), Ward C. Hughes in The Farmer's Daughter (1947), and Dr. Curran in The Flying Leathernecks (1951).
