Extremely rare vintage signature black fountain pen on a 4.5 x 6-inch yellow autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In fine condition, with a mild horizontal bend and small spots of light soiling blow and well away from the signature. Coleman Hawkins, widely recognized as the first important and influential jazz exponent of the tenor saxophone, performed prfessionally from the early 1920s until the late 1960s, contributing mightily to the development of bebop in the 1940s and avant-gade jazz in the 1950s and 1960s.
