Ultra-rare, mattable vintage signature in violet fountain pen on a roughly 5x7-inch pale green album page, surrounded by the autographs of 15 fellow actors from the 1910 stage production "Prunella" at the Duke of York's Theatre in London. Included are such luminaries as Sybil Thorndike, Lewis Casson, Mary Jerrold, and Duncan McRae. In good condition, with a few minor flecks of toning. Veteran character actor O.P. Heggie is probably best known for his portrayal of the blind hermit who interacts so amicably with the Monster in one of the most iconic sequences of James Whale’s horror classic Bride of Frankenstein (1935). He was elsewhere noteworthy as Inspector Nayland Smith in The Mysterious Dr. Fu Manchu (1929) and The Return of Dr. Fu Manchu (1930), opposite Warner Oland in the role of the titular criminal mastermind.
