Scarce vintage inscribed fountain pen signature on a tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in 1955. A correction to the inscription-- and amusing apology-- make this a charming item. In good condition for its age, with a few surface crinkles, some gentle edge wear and a few flecks of soiling. Well-mannered, handsomely-tailored British character actor Tom Helmore -- who was a best friend to Boris Karloff and even married Karloff's ex-wife!-- played wealthy, prosperous types, perhaps most notably Gavin Elster, husband of deranged Kim Novak in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo (1958). His long list of other credits includes The Feathered Serpent (1934), The Tender Trap (1955), Designing Women (1957), the sci-fi and fantasy favorite The Time Machine (1960), and Flipper's New Adventure (1964).
