Scarce vintage blue ballpoint pen signature on a 5x3-inch tan card, attained in the 1950s and decorated with a newspaper image of the star. In fine condition, with toning to the four bits of tape used to affix the image to the autograph. Well-mannered, handsomely-tailored British character actor Tom Helmore -- who was a best friend to Boris Karloff and even married Karloff's ex-wife!-- played wealthy, prosperous types, perhaps most notably Gavin Elster, husband of deranged Kim Novak in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo (1958). His long list of other credits includes The Feathered Serpent (1934), The Tender Trap (1955), Designing Women (1957), the sci-fi and fantasy favorite The Time Machine (1960), and Flipper's New Adventure (1964).
