Highly scarce vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 3 x 4.75-inch off-white slip, acquired in-person at Boston's Colonial Theater by inveterate collector Howard Davis in the late 1930s. Affixed to a 4x6-inch tan autograph album page. In good condition, with a very faint fold down the center, which is barely noticeable. Accompanied by a small computer-printed image of the star. Best known for his role as the patriarch of the Bailey clan in Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life (1946), ever-serious character actor Samuel S. Hinds similar played men of authority in films like Little Women (1933), The Crime Doctor (1934), The Cat's-Paw (1934), She (1935), Shadow of a Doubt (1935), Stage Door (1937), You Can't Take It with You (1938), Young Dr. Kildare (1938), Calling Dr. Kildare (1939), The Secret of Dr. Kildare (1939), Dr. Kildare Goes Home (1940), Cobra Woman (1944), Lady on a Train (1945), and Scarlet Street (1945). He also had roles in a considerable number of horror, sci-fi and fantasy flicks, including Murders in the Zoo (1933), Gabriel Over the White House (1933), Berkeley Square (1933), Deluge (1933), The Raven (1935), She (1935), Night Key (1937), Man Made Monster (1941), The Strange Case of Doctor Rx (1942), Son of Dracula (1943), and Jungle Woman (1944).
