He was also memorable in Frank Capra's American Madness (1932) and Meet John Doe (1941); Tod Browning's Fast Workers (1933); Norman Z. McLeod's Alice in Wonderland (1933); Lewis Milestone's A Walk in the Sun (1945); Stanley Kramer's It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963); and a classic episode of T.V.'s "The Twilight Zone" entitled "What's in the Box?" (1964).
