Cat. #00154161: BILLY HOUSE

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage blue ballpoint pen signature on a 2x5-inch portion of a yellow album page, acquired in-person, circa 1960. In good condition, with slightly uneven trimming to the upper edge, probably to remove an inscription. Note that the image of the star shown alongside the scan of the signature here is not included with the autographed item. Large-and-in-charge vaudevillian and movie character actor Billy House-- who was used by Disney as the model for both Doc in "Snow White" (1933) and Smee in "Peter Pan" (1953)-- was memorable in films like A Tale of Two Cities (1935), The Stranger (1946), horror's Bedlam (1946) and Inner Sanctum (1948), The Egg and I (1949), People Will Talk (1951), Touch of Evil (1958), and Imitation of Life (1959)-- in the fun small role of the fat man who is unwittingly photographed with a beer on his belly by John Gavin, leading to his meeting Lana Turner, Juanita Moore and their kids.
